Corali Dance Company is passionate about creating opportunities for children and young people with a learning disability to engage with and explore dance, as dancers, performers and audience members. We are proud to be supporting schools and education settings on their Artsmark journey.

We provide a range of activities and bespoke workshops to support schools in a number of ways:

·      Continuing Professional Development (CPD) or INSET training days. We can offer you a bespoke session to meet your needs

·      Creative Workshops – either a one-off workshop or a series of workshops through our school engagement offer, Chance to Shine

·      Leadership Skills and Pupil Voice development – bespoke workshops to support leadership skill development

·      Performance skills – bespoke workshops to support students gain confidence on stage. This could tie in with watching a Corali performance as audience and meeting the cast.

All workshops and CPD will be led
collaboratively by an integrated team of Corali artists that includes our
dancers who have a learning disability. This way of working provides positive role models for your students and allows you to work first-hand with Corali’s talented dancers.

We specialise in dance and working across art forms.  This allows teachers to use the arts in a variety of ways to enhance and embed creative practices within your school, so that every child can receive high quality art experiences.

If you are undertaking Artsmark accreditation and would like to discuss ways in which we can support you, please email nicola@corali.org.uk

“We were privileged to work with Corali on a six-week partnership culminating in a performance at Tate Modern. At the heart of their work is the desire for pupils to share their own voice. It was amazing for me, as a teacher, to see pupils who struggle verbally contributing their creative ideas to the project through movement. A key part of the work of Corali is their use of workshop facilitators with learning difficulties. It’s very rare for my pupils with SEND to meet adults with learning difficulties and have those role models. These role models are essential for pupils to understand that they can have a ‘voice’ in the creative arts industries, if you can’t see it you don’t think you can do it.”
