Bethan's Blog: the last dates of Super Hot Hot Dog tour
We went to Cornwall on Wednesday 14th of February. We had to meet at Brixton House and wait for the minibus to arrive. Then we had to load all our luggage and props and tech and everything on the minibus, and then we got started on our journey. It was a very long way so we had to do lots of stops.
We went to different places like Redruth and then Portreath. We stayed in Premier Inn which was nice. We had good weather and good breakfast. We had good meals out and we did a little bit of sightseeing, walking along the beach and having lovely lunches.
We performed in Liskeard Community Hall, then we performed in Portreath at Millennium Hall. It was good. The performances went very well, I really enjoyed it and I loved performing with all my heart. It was good spacing, nice lights. It was good to see the audience interact with us. The performances were part of the family show, with children of all ages who can interact with the performers and look at the props.
We also did a workshop, which was good. We did a warm-up and also looked at travelling, spacing, levels, dynamics, directions, doing movements with words that we loved. We had lovely music and we did improvisation, and then all participants shared what they had been doing.
We also performed Super Hot Hot Dog at the Place Theatre in London. It was amazing to do the show there. The audience was lovely and they really interacted with the performers on the stage. I really enjoyed the show. My best bit was the Beak Journey and the Octopus bit. I loved it so much.
After the show we did the workshop based on Super Hot Hot Dog. We did the underwater bit with sea creatures, and it was fun to explore it with other people. I really enjoyed it. In the workshop we looked at the different ice creams flavours we worked on, Bubble gum, Mint choc Chip, Vanilla and Tutti Frutti. And then the people in the workshop came up with new flavours like Banana Split and Salted Caramel.
